Alcohol measuring equipment (AME), ethyl alcohol meter

The ethyl alcohol meters are used for quantity measurement of spirits and simultaneous determination of the amount of alcohol (amount of ethyl alcohol), taking into account the temperature and density; for taxing purposes in distilleries, alcohol and liquor factories.

The ethyl alcohol meters satisfy the regulations of the German monopoly administration.

• Housing made of cast iron, two part The housing is pressure-tight up to 0.4 bar (5.8 psi).
  • Bottom part with inlet and outlet connections
  • Pipe connection: Oval flange with female thread.

• Drum made of CrNiMo sheet steel (welded); capacity: 15 l (4 USg)
• Display/signal output
  • Single-pointer dial with non-resettable, 5-digit drum-type counter
  • Double inductive pulser, both linked to the drum through a magnetic coupling and adjustable intermediate gear
  • Sample passed into drum through temperature sensor (Pt 1000) and density measuring unit
  • Display of actual quantity of spirits, actual quantity of alcohol or alcohol/water value.

The ethyl alcohol meter has a central computer for processing density and temperature signals and volume-proportional pulses, which are compared with the entered values of the OIMC alcohol table.
