Danger to life if the safety instructions and residual risks are not observed
If the safety instructions and residual risks in the associated hardware documentation are not observed, accidents involving
severe injuries or death can occur.
• Observe the safety instructions given in the hardware documentation.
• Consider the residual risks for the risk evaluation.

Malfunctions of the machine as a result of incorrect or changed parameter settings
As a result of incorrect or changed parameterization, machines can malfunction, which in turn can lead to injuries or death.
• Protect the parameterization (parameter assignments) against unauthorized access.
• Handle possible malfunctions by taking suitable measures, e.g. emergency stop or emergency off.

Unsafe operating states resulting from software manipulation
Software manipulations (e.g. viruses, trojans, malware or worms) can cause unsafe operating states in your system that
may lead to death, serious injury, and property damage.
• Keep the software up to date.
• Incorporate the automation and drive components into a holistic, state-of-the-art industrial security concept for the
installation or machine.
• Make sure that you include all installed products into the holistic industrial security concept.
• Protect files stored on exchangeable storage media from malicious software by with suitable protection measures, e.g.
virus scanners.
• Protect the drive against unauthorized changes by activating the "know-how protection" drive function.

Calls the calculator function when you position the cursor on the desired input field
<CTRL + cursor key>: Changes the screen backlight brightness by an increment of 10% (bright-
ness range: 10% to 100%)
Note that after you release the key combination, the HMI saves your brightness setting and the
brightness bar disappears after a few seconds.
Enters the upper character shown on the alphabetic/numeric keys concerned
Opens the system data operating area

In the program editor, pressing this key moves the cursor to the beginning of the selected pro-
gram block.

Status indicators
Indicator Status and meaning
"POK" • Solid green: The power supply for the control system is switched on.
"RDY" • Solid green: The control system is ready and the PLC is in run mode.
• Solid red: The control system is in stop mode.
• Solid orange: The PLC is in stop mode.
• Flashing orange: The PLC is in power-up mode.
"TEMP" • Off: The temperature of the control system is within the specified scope.
• Solid orange: The temperature of the control system is beyond the scope.

2.1.3 Screen layout
Alarms and messages in the status area
Displays active alarms with alarm text
The alarm number is displayed in white letter-
ing on a red background. The associated
alarm text is shown in red lettering. An arrow
indicates that several alarms are active. The
number to the right of the arrow indicates the
total number of active alarms. When more
than one alarm is active, the display scrolls
through the alarms in sequence. An acknowl-
edgement symbol indicates the alarm cancel
criterion.
Displays messages from NC programs
Messages from NC programs do not have
numbers and appear in green lettering.
