Summary of changes
The following information is new or revised:
Updated the LCS8500 section of this document. When the NAE8500 software with LON support is available, customers can migrate from
the LCS8500 to the NAE8500 using a NAE8500 upgrade (-6) license.
Note: This product discontinuation letter was originally issued in July 2025.
Controllers and sensors
Due to the discontinuation of key components within the LON controller and sensor product, the manufacturer has issued a discontinuation
and Last-Time-Buy (LTB) for these products. As a result, the LON controller and sensor portfolio will be discontinued from the Johnson
Controls portfolio.
To meet the manufacturer’s LTB timelines, and to account for processing times, all orders must be submitted by August 1 2025 to ensure
order commitment and delivery. Requested delivery time can be up until December 15. Orders received after August 1 2025 will be subject
to the standard stock-phased discontinuation process, where orders are fulfilled if the stock exists. For these controllers and sensors, there
is no equivalent LON replacement available.
The LN-Builder licenses, LN-BLDW-0 and TL-BLDW-0, were officially discontinued by the manufacturer with LTB opportunity on October
1st 2024 and are already in stock-phased discontinuation. Licensing and re-licensing will be supported through 2025, with the possibility of
an extended date under consideration. For information on an alternative tool solution, see Note 1.
While sales of LON controller and sensor products will end, Metasys SNE engines will continue to support LonWorks integrations via the
ACC-USBLON-0 adapter. SNx models purchased with the LON option include the integration adapter. See Note 2.

Note 1: LN-Builder3 End of Life date was October 1, 2024. LN-Builder Tool (LN-BLDW-0) is available through Johnson Controls while
license supplies last. Following this, customers will need to purchase alternative tools such as the Izot Commissioning Tool directly from
vendors such as ControlCo.
Note 2: The ACC-USBLON-0 Integration Adapter is available to support LON integrations into Metasys.

LCS8500
Due to declining sales, the LCS8500 portfolio will be discontinued from the Johnson Controls portfolio for new orders. Existing installations
will continue to be supported through Metasys release 15.0. The MS-LCS85SW-0 and MS-LCS85SW-6 licenses remain available for
purchase, see Available LCS8500 software licenses. However, no further LCS8500 software releases are planned. Purchases or upgrades
during this interim period are entitled to the existing 15.0 software.
As part of the LCS8500 discontinuation, the NAE8500 software will be enhanced to support LON integrations. When the NAE8500 software
with LON support is available, customers can migrate from the LCS8500 to the NAE8500 using a NAE8500 upgrade (-6) license. More
information will be provided at a later time. Alternatively, the ACC-USBLON-0 Integration Adapter continues to be available to support LON
integrations for Metasys SNE and SNC Engines.
