      MP8000 Series Pneumatic Actuator Basic Installation
        Procedure for N.O., N.C., and Three-Way Mixing
             Iron Flanged Valves (No Positioner)
                     Spring Return Down
1.    Remove and retain the yoke, connector, and connector hardware from the
      actuator. Remove the packing nut from the valve and retain for Step 4.
2.    Remove the bonnet nut from the valve and discard.
3.    Attach the yoke to the valve bonnet, and secure it in place with the yoke
      nut. Hand tighten only.
4.    Reinstall the packing nut from Step 1, and tighten it 1/6 turn past hand tight.
5.    Remove the set screw inside the actuator stem and retain for Step 16.
6.    Thread the 3/8-24 jam nut (included with the valve) fully onto the valve
      stem.
7.    Attach the connector to the actuator stem using the 7/16-20 x 7/8 in.
      actuator stem bolt and lock washer provided. Hand tighten only.
8.    Secure the actuator to the yoke with the four metric nuts (included with the
      actuator). The valve stem must engage the connector. Tighten the metric
      nuts securely.
9.    Position the valve stem in order to fully close the valve.
10.   If the valve stem/connector engagement is too long or too short, turn the
      actuator stop nut until there is sufficient engagement (approximately
      1/4 in.).
11.   Align the connector with the yoke slot, and insert the anti-rotation pin.
      Tighten the anti-rotation pin securely in place.
12.   Apply enough supply air to move the actuator stem 1/4 in. Tighten the
      actuator stem bolt securely. Disconnect the air supply.
13.   Thread the 3/8-24 lower jam nut (included with the actuator) onto the valve
      up against the connector. Tighten the lower jam nut until there is a 1/32 in.
      gap between the actuator stop nut and the brass bearing holder.
14.   Thread the 3/8-24 upper jam nut (included with the actuator) against the
      connector and tighten it securely in place.
15.   Tighten the yoke nut securely in place.
16.   Reinstall the set screw from Step 5 into the actuator stop nut, and tighten
      securely in place.
17.   Apply 20 psig supply air to the actuator and observe the unit for proper operation.

        Procedure for N.O., N.C., and Three-Way Mixing
            Brass and Iron Valves (No Positioner)
                      Spring Return Up
1.    Remove and retain the yoke, connector, and connector hardware from the
      actuator. Remove the packing nut from the valve and retain for Step 4.
2.    Remove the bonnet nut from the valve and discard.
3.    Attach the yoke to the valve bonnet, and secure it in place with the yoke
      nut. Hand tighten only.
4.    Reinstall the packing nut from Step 1, and tighten it 1/6 turn past hand tight.
5.    Thread the lower jam nut (included with the valve) fully onto the valve stem.
      For VG7000 Series and Cage Trim Valves with a 1/4 in. stem, thread the
      stem extender fully onto the stem, then thread the 3/8-24 jam nut (included
      with the actuator) onto the stem extender until there is a 3/16 in. gap
      between the two jam nuts.
6.    Attach the connector to the actuator stop nut using the 7/16-20 x 7/8 in.
      actuator stem bolt and lock washer. Engage the bolt approximately
      three turns into the actuator stem; the connector will be loose.
7.    Secure the actuator to the yoke with the four metric nuts (included with the
      actuator). The valve stem must engage the connector. Tighten the metric
      nuts securely and hand tighten the actuator stem bolt.
8.    Fully extend the valve stem into the connector hole, then install the
      3/8-24 upper jam nut (included with the actuator) onto the stem or stem
      extender.
9.    Align the connector with the yoke slot, and insert the anti-rotation pin.
      Tighten the anti-rotation pin securely in place.
10.   Apply enough supply air to move stem down 1/4 in. Tighten the actuator
      stem bolt securely. Disconnect the air supply.
11.   Fully extend the valve stem up, and tighten the 3/8-24 upper jam nut
      against the connector until there is a 1/32 in. gap between the actuator stop
      nut and the brass bearing holder.
12.   Tighten the lower 3/8-24 jam nut against the connector. For VG7000 Series
      and Cage Trim Valves with a 1/4 in. stem, tighten the 1/4-28 jam nut
      against stem extender.
13.   Tighten the yoke nut securely in place.
14.   Apply 20 psig supply air to the actuator and observe the unit for proper operation.
