Description
The M9000-151 Base Mount Linkage Kit provides
inside duct mounting for M9000 actuators. The base
mount linkage kit must be used on a 3-blade or
larger damper. The nominal spring return torque is
100 lbin at the damper pin.

The following instructions are for a 3-blade, parallel
blade operation, right hand CCW-open damper. The
rotation range of the output collar is factory set for 0°
to 90° in the CW direction. The rotation range can be
changed as follows:
1. Push down the gear release and rotate the collar

2. On the back side of the actuator, use a small
   screwdriver to release the locking clip and pull out
   the collar as shown in Figure 12. Mount the crank
   arm and the ball joint, according to the following
   instructions, before reinstalling the collar.

                                              1. To set the Clockwise (CW) return-to-normal
                                                 direction, the sleeve must be reinserted into the
                                                 back of the actuator with the splines furthest from
                                                 the actuator. To achieve the 45° rotation between
                                                 end stops, insert the sleeve at approximately the
                                                 22-1/2° position.
                                              2. Using the guides on the back of the actuator,
                                                 position the sleeve such that the wide gap of the
                                                 sleeve teeth is centered on the top guide line as
                                                 shown in Figure 14.
                                              3. To reassemble the coupler to the actuator, align
                                                 the tab on the bottom of the coupler with the wide
                                                 gap of the sleeve teeth and insert the coupler into
                                                 the actuator.

                                              Depending on the installation, the actuator can be
                                              mounted to the upright mounting bracket using one of
                                              the two types of fasteners provided. The preferred
                                              method would be to use the No. 10-24 x 2-1/2 inch
                                              long machine screws with the lock washers and
                                              nuts. When space is limited and the machine screws
                                              cannot be used, then No. 10-32 tapping screws have
                                              been provided. (The holes in the bracket are sized for
                                              tapping screws.)

1. Determine the location for mounting the blade arm
   on the damper blade. The correct location of the
   blade arm will result in the drive rod being parallel
   to the universal mounting bracket and
   perpendicular to the damper blade, as shown in
   Figure 26. Make sure the blade arm is installed on
   the linkage side of the preferred or alternate drive
   blade.
2. Fasten the blade arm to the damper blade using
   two No. 12-24 x 1/2 inch hex-head tapping screws,
   as shown in Figure 27.

3. Assemble the connection head to the threaded
   end of the drive rod and tighten. Slide the drive
   rod through the ball joint opening but don’t tighten.
