6. Wipe the stem with a paper towel to remove any
grit or debris. If the valve stem is rough or marred,
it should not be reused.
7. Apply a small amount of grease to the inside of the
stuffing box, the stem, and onto the internal
diameter of the ring packs. Make sure that the
O-rings are already positioned in the U-cups before
applying the grease. (Do not apply grease to the
O-rings.)
8. Slide the bullet (1/4 in. stems) or the sleeve (3/8 in.
stems) over the stem threads.
9. With the O-rings facing down, slide both ring packs
together over the bullet or sleeve and onto the
valve stem.

Repacking Procedure
14. Install the packing nut onto the packing box.
