Use
The D-3244-618 Rubber Boot Kit is used to protect a D-3244 or D-3246
actuator bearing shaft in a dirty or mildly corrosive atmosphere.

1.   Measure and record the distance between the connection head and the
     actuator face as shown in Figure 2.

2.   Remove the connection head and the two locknuts.

3.   Place Washer “B” inside the first complete pleat at one end of the boot as
     shown in Figure 4.
4.   Place the first pleat of the other end of the boot into the boot holder.

5.   Slip the entire assembly over the actuator rod and use the two
     #8-32 x 3/8 inch self-threading screws to secure the boot holder to the
     actuator face as shown in Figure 5.

6.   Attach Washer “A” over the boot assembly and secure it in place with one
     locknut as shown in Figure 6.
7.   Attach the second locknut (washer and rod when positioner is furnished)
     and the connection head.
8.   Adjust the connection head to the distance measured in Step 1.
9.   Secure the connection head by tighten the second locknut.
Note:    Both locknuts should be tightened to approximately 50 ft·lb.
